Sam Newth has gained widespread support for his original blend of vocal-driven acoustic rock over the past two years, drawing influence from the best sounds of the recent singer-songwriter resurgence, including Damien Rice, David Gray and others.
Indeed his recent tours of London have included the renowned acoustic session at the Half Moon in Putney, as well as Big Note acoustic sessions at the Hope and Anchor, Islington. More recently, Sam has moved into the arena of supporting acts with publishing deals, opening for the Bushberries and Eleanor McEvoy across the Midlands, and performing as support to Pauline Taylor (vocals for Faithless) at the Sound Cafe in London. This rise in profile has been echoed in the areas of radio and press with recent FM radioplay across the Midlands and material used on Capital FM over the period of a month as well as being highlighted to feature in a live DVD filming session at the nationally recognised, Mixmag listed, Jazz and Roots Club in the West Midlands.
His New album Under the Radar has recieved critical acclaim, and a good deal of radio play across the midlands.
